Say Hello- CB500
Easy handling commuter, which is not out of its depth for longer distances. Good economy and range. Used extensively for Direct Access training, and very good town bike. Suspension is weak point, having been built down to a price. Riding position better for shorties. (Some) engines tested up to 200,000 miles use at factory, so should be reliable - with proper servicing. 1997 saw disc rear brake replacing drum, and manufacture in Italy with no loss of quality. ‘S’ means nothing more than top fairing. Perhaps the best value for money 500 workhorse. Replaced 2004 by new CBF version.
